Where to celebrate the 4th of July this year!

On July 4, 1776, the 13 colonies claimed their independence from England, an event which eventually led to the formation of the United States. Each year on the fourth of July, also known as Independence Day, Americans celebrate this historic event.

From cookouts to homemade ice cream and a fireworks show, here is our list of go-to places to celebrate the 4th this year!

 

Harrisburg 4th of July Celebration
2 day celebration at Harrisburg Park.
Wednesday, July 3rd, 4 p.m. to 10:00 p.m., and Thursday, July 4th, 4 p.m. to 11:00 p.m.
Harrisburg celebrates with a two day festival at Harrisburg Park, with live music, amusements and lots more. Both days end with Fireworks displays. On Thursday morning there’s a parade on Hwy. 49, which starts at 9 a.m. Free, but there’s a cost for some activities.

 

Kannapolis Intimidators’ ballpark
Wednesday, July 3rd. A  fireworks display follows the game against the Rome Braves. Buy tickets here.

 

4th of July Festival at US National Whitewater Center
Festival begins on Wednesday, July 3rd and picks up again onThursday, July 4th. Includes live music followed by a fireworksdisplay each night. Live music on Thursday by Smooth Hound Slim and North Mississippi Allstars.  Admission is free. Parking is $6.

 

July 3rd Celebration,

Mooresville — Lowe’s YMCA, 170 Joe V. Knox Avenue, Mooresville. In partnership with the Town of Mooresville, the Lowe’s YMCA July 3rd Summer Celebration is a community staple, bringing together families from across the Lake Norman community to enjoy fellowship, local entertainment and food, kid-friendly activities, and of course, spectacular fireworks. Bring a blanket and chairs, and arrive early.

 

Skyshow & Street Party 2019,

Charlotte — BB&T Ballpark, 324 South Mint Street, Charlotte. 2 p.m – 10 p.m. Mint Street shuts down in front of the ballpark for this all-day street party featuring music and family entertainment. Catch a Charlotte Knights baseball game. First pitch for the game is at 6:05pm as Charlotte Knights take on Durham Bulls.  Afterward, you will be amazed by the largest fireworks display in the Southeast with the SkyShow Fireworks brought to you by Fox 46 Charlotte.

 

July 4th Celebration,

Huntersville — Birkdale Village, 16725 Birkdale Commons Parkway, Huntersville. 10 a.m. – 1 p.m. oin us for a fun filled day to celebrate July 4th! As always, bring your bike and after decorating it, join us for the parade. The Huntersville Fire Department will be on hand to cool us down with their ladder truck.
