Transitioning Into Fall

Fall is coming! Even though it still feels hot and humid, Fall is just around the corner, the first official day is September 22nd.  Now is the perfect time to swap out your summer like decor for more “Fall-ish” home pieces.  So here are some quick and easy ways to add a little bit of Fall to your home.

Colors.  When you think of Fall what colors come to mind?  Basically think of all the colors at the peak of Fall foliage.  Swap out your hot pink and bright green outdoor pillows for more muted tones like navy blue or hunter green.  Add a chunky knit throw to the end of your bed or over the side of your couch.  These small swaps will help give your home a more cozy feel, perfect for cooler temps.

Smells.  Set the mood by putting away those floral and fruity smells and pulling out the pumpkin spice and apple cinnamon candles.  Diffuse fall-friendly essential oils throughout your home, and you can even find cleaning products with Fall scents.

Table Decor.  Who doesn’t love a good tablescape?  To create a simple dining table display, start with your linens or place settings, then fill in the center with flowers or candles.  Less is usually more when it comes to items on your dining table, remember you will still need to leave room for your dinner plate!

Freshen up the front porch.  How do majority of guests enter your home?  For most of us the answer would be, the front door.  Try giving your front porch a little refresh by swapping out the outdoor pillows, add a fun Welcome sign, or a Hello Fall outdoor rug.  And of course when the time is right, add the pumpkins!
