Transitioning Your Home from Summer to Fall

Transitioning Your Home from Summer to Fall

The temperature is changing outside, signaling the arrival of Fall.  Now is the perfect time to infuse warmth and coziness into your home’s design.

  1. Warm up with earthy tones.  Summer is all about the bright energetic colors, whereas Fall is better suited with earthy tones. Shades of red, burnt orange, browns, and yellows are great colors to add to your decor.

  2. Layer textures.  Texture is a really great way to transition into Fall.  Chunky blankets, velvet pillows, corduroy throws, will help to make your home feel warm and inviting for the cooler months ahead.

  3. Use nature in your design.  Display branches with colorful Fall foliage in vases or make a centerpiece with gourds and pumpkins.

  4. Swap out art, photos, and accents.  Replace seashells and beach inspired items with wooden accents.  Switch out family photos from the Summer to new ones of you and your family in the Fall.

  5. Seasonal tablescape. Update your dining table with rustic chargers, textured placemats, and add a centerpiece made from Fall flowers, pumpkins, and gourds.
