Preparing Your Home for Thanksgiving

Happy Thanksgiving greeting

Before all of your family and friends arrive for Thanksgiving, you want to make sure that everything is in working order.  A plumbing problem is the last thing that you want to happen when you have guests in your home.

  1.  Check your disposal and appliances:  Make sure that your garbage disposal is ready for the large amounts of food heading its way.  A clogged sink due to a broken disposal can really put a damper on your holiday fun.
  2. Clean and organize your home:  Everyone wants their home to be portrayed in the best possible light, and the only way to achieve that is to clean and to clean often.  Now is the time to scrub that stain on your carpet that you keep putting off, and of course vacuum and dust every room in your house!  Clear out your coat closet to ensure your guests have a place to hang their coats and purses.  If you plan on venturing outside, make sure your yard has been mowed and you have picked up after your pets!
  3. Have extra cleaning supplies on hand:  There is no way around it, your home especially your kitchen, is going to get dirty.  To ease the stress of having a messy home, make sure that you have extra cleaning supplies on hand.  Extra paper towels, carpet cleaners, and Clorox wipes are always a good thing to have!
