Organize and Declutter Your Home for 2015

What better time to organize and declutter your home then when you are stuck indoors due to the freezing temperatures. Take advantage of the cold outdoors and spend your day inside cleaning and organizing your home in preparation for Spring! Here are a few decluttering and organizational ideas that will better prepare you for spring and summer.

Deep clean your bathrooms

You will want to clean your bathroom’s surfaces, curtains, moldings, rugs, and walls. Repeat as needed for each bathroom in your house. While you are at it, you will want to organize your bathroom’s drawers, cabinets, and shower baskets. Having a clean and well organized bathroom may even help to improve your mood!

Get into your bedroom

Since you spend a good amount of time in your bedroom, there’s a good chance that it could stand to be cleaner and better organized. The area under your bed may prove to be particularly troublesome. After all, you probably toss unnecessary items under there without giving them much thought. Out of sight out of mind, right?

Declutter your closet

If you haven’t worn it in the past 6-8 months, then chances are you never will. Don’t be afraid to remove and donate any clothing that you do not currently wear. You will be surprised how better you feel once you have removed all the clothing that you never use.

Clean out your fridge

That pack of cheese in the very bottom drawer of your fridge that has turned green by now, yeah, it is time to let it go. Remove any expired food and wipe down all of your shelves and drawers.

Cleaning and decluttering doesn’t have to be a stressful and time-consuming task. Use the tips above and try to tackle one or two a day. Your home will be warm weather ready in no time.
