This weekend kicks off the most festive weekend of the year! From tree lightings to Christmas Parades, here is some of our favorite Christmas events that you will not want to miss this year!
This Friday in Downtown Concord:
The 26th Annual TREE LIGHTING CEREMONY presented by Uwharrie Bank, Eli Lilly, and Atrium Health is on Friday, November 17 from 6-8:30 p.m. in Downtown Concord NC
Photos with Santa, food trucks, and the kids’ zone with inflatables, a rock wall, balloon artist, a kids’ train, and kids’ crafts begin at 6:00 p.m.
Music and dance performances on the main stage also start at 6 p.m.
The tree lighting is at 8pm in Rotary Square, followed by fireworks at 8:20 p.m. The fireworks are best viewed from Bicentennial Lot.
Don’t miss our illuminated vehicle display along Church Street! This year, guests will have the chance to vote for their favorite display and the winner will be announced on Nov. 20.
This Saturday in Downtown Concord:
The Truecare Pharmacy 95th CONCORD CHRISTMAS PARADE is on Saturday, Nov. 18th at 2:30 p.m.
Due to the construction, this year’s parade will begin at the intersection of Church Street N and Lake Concord Road and continue over two miles along Church Street. This temporary parade route is necessary as large floats are unable to make the turn from Union Street N onto Cabarrus Avenue.
This Saturday in Downtown Kannapolis:
Don’t miss the annual Tree Lighting Ceremony & Celebration of Lights at 6 p.m., Saturday, November 18 at Village Park. (700 West C Street)
Following the lighting of the tree there will be a fireworks show at 6:15 p.m., live musical performances and much more.
Saturday November 25th, come support Small Business Saturday in Downtown Kannapolis and Concord!
Happening in Downtown Kannapolis:
Begin your holiday shopping Thanksgiving weekend at the Holiday Market.
The Holiday Market will be open daily, from 10 a.m.-6 p.m., November 24-26 in Kannapolis City Hall.
Local vendors and artists will have plenty of holiday goodies to choose from.
Food and drinks will be available for purchase.

Small Business Saturday is a time for celebrating our local heroes – the small businesses that make our community thrive. Let’s show our love for our small businesses and make this Small Business Saturday the best one yet. Mark your calendars, bring your friends and family, and let’s shop ’til we drop!
Here’s what to expect:
Explore the charming streets of Concord on a Holiday Trolley that will take you from Downtown Concord to @cabarrusbrewco at @gibsonmillncmarket , and @southernstrainbrewing .
First 50 shoppers will receive a Shop Small Goodie Bag filled with coupons and goodies from our local businesses that complete their SBS shopping card.
All shoppers will receive a FREE “Downtown Concord” shop local canvas shopping bag.
Capture the joy of the season by taking a picture with Santa Claus! He’ll be at 11 Union Street from 12 pm – 3 pm. This is a free/take-your-own photo with Santa Claus opportunity!
There will also be a Letters to Santa station, courtesy of the Cabarrus Arts Council, set up outside the Historic Courthouse on Union St.
Shop over 50 indoor and outdoor market vendors, including an artist market at the Cabarrus Arts Council, plus local businesses in Downtown Concord.
