Fall Back in Love With Your Home

We know that not everyone can pick up and move into a custom built Niblock Home when they’re tired of their old place, and that’s why we want to help you fall back in love with your current home.  Even if your home is 10-20 years old, rearranging furniture and making small upgrades can help bring back the appreciation for the home you fell in love with many years ago.

Use old paint left over from previous projects to perk up a table, interior door, stair risers, or a wooden chair.  Even repainted your walls and ceilings can make a big impact on any room.

We all have them, boxes of photographs that you printed and then forgot about.  Pull of your favorites and replace your old framed photos with new ones.  Group them in odd numbers on the wall, tables, or shelves.

Rearrange the furniture.  Sometimes just moving your sofa into a new corner or placing it on an angle can make your family room look and feel different.

Update your kitchen.  Your kitchen is the heart of the home.  For just a few hundred dollars you can update the light fixtures, replace the door hardware, or even replace the faucet.  If you have a slightly larger budget, refacing or even painting your kitchen cabinets will instantly transform your kitchen.

Freshen up the bathrooms.  Next to the kitchen, bathrooms are often the next most important room to update.  Simple things like a new toilet seat and a pedestal sink are pretty easy for homeowners to update.

Carpeting is another detail that can quickly update your home.  Hiring a professional to clean your carpets is a relatively inexpensive investment.  If your carpet is showing lots of wear and tear, try placing an area rug over the spot.

Reframe your entry, it is the first thing that you see.  Either repaint or refinish your front door.  Also replace your old dated door knob with a more substantial looking handle and lock set.  Adding planters to your front porch is a great way to add curb appeal.
