Easy Tips to Make your Bedroom Look and Feel More Expensive

Your master bedroom is the one room in your home where you can go to escape the clutter of your kids toys, the mess in your kitchen from lunch that day, or even your husbands messy office.  Here are a few tips on how to make your bedroom feel luxurious and expensive without spending a fortune.

.)  Overfill your throw pillows:  There is something very luxurious about an overstuffed throw pillow.  Throw pillows go a long way from making your bedroom “everyday” to your owner’s retreat.

.)  Add a hanging light fixture:  Replace those old flush light fixtures with a statement making hanging light fixture or a glamorous chandelier.  You can find amazing deals for hanging lights on craigslist or even your local thrift shops.

.)  Rethink your nightstand:  Try hiding all those hodgepodge items that you typically see on ones nightstand; phone cords, hand creams, half empty glass of water.  All you need is a beautiful display tray and few small items.

.)  Focus on the statement pieces:  Does your room have a beautiful upholstered headboard, a vintage dresser, or a unique chair?  Let those items be the focal point of your room, not some unnecessary clutter.

.)  Keep the floor empty:  A cluttered bedroom never looks luxurious!  That means no stacks of books and  piles of extension cords!

.)  Upgrade your hardware:  There is no reason to keep the default hardware that came with your dresser and nightstands.  There are many ways to personalize your furniture; crystals, gemstones, and copper to name a few.

.)  Reorganize your vanity:  Just like your nightstand, a cluttered vanity can make your bedroom look messy.  Try buying makeup organizers or a jewelry stand to keep everything in order.

.)  Add greenery:  A large fern or small potted plants helps to make any room feel more glamorous.
