Life in Mooresville, NC
The town of Mooresville is a very special place to us at Niblock Homes. One of our 7 Niblock communities, Ashlyn Creek, is located less than 3 miles from historical Downtown Mooresville. There are several reasons that we fell in love with this location and decided to build a community. The amazing school district, easy lake access, and welcoming hometown feel are just a few of those reasons.
I can’t think of anyone who loves Mooresville, North Carolina more than our On-Line Sales Consultant, Annie Raborn. Annie has worked in the town of Mooresville for over 26 years. Not only is Annie a resident of the town of Mooresville, but she is also a very active member in the community.
I recently sat down with Annie to find out exactly what makes Mooresville such an amazing place to call home.
What makes Mooresville so special?
Mooresville has the history of a small town. With its downtown area you can walk thru the streets and just see the history and learn more about the community. You are still close to everything. Lake Norman, which is the largest man made lake in NC, is perfect for water sports, boating, paddle boarding, and jet skiing.
Mooresville also has the location for people working in Charlotte, Statesville, or even Salisbury, while keeping that feeling of small town USA.

What do you love most about living in the town of Mooresville?
I love how involved the people are in the growth of the community. As a resident of the town of Mooresville, you still have a say in how the town grows. But if I had to pick the thing that I love most about living in Mooresville, it would be the lake. Living near Lake Norman makes you feel as though you are living in a resort type town, and you can’t beat that!

What are you favorite local spots to visit?
Wow all of them come to mind! Lazy 5 Ranch is one of our family’s favorite places to visit. Queens Landing is another great spot, there you can sit by the water and have an ice Cream, rent a jet ski, and watch the western sunset on the water. In the summer they have live entertainment and dancing! There is also Lake Norman State Park!
Why is Mooresville a great place to raise a family?
The schools! Mooresville Graded School District is the highest ranked school district in the state of North Carolina. The small town feeling makes for a great environment for raising kids. Of course there is always something to do and places to go. In the summer we have movies on the lawn and live entertainment. It’s the perfect time to bring a blanket and enjoy an evening with family and friends, because everyone in Mooresville speaks to each other! There are also food truck nights with great vendors, parades during the holidays for the kids, and fun festivities year round!
Would you ever move out of Mooresville?
