Easy Breezy Spring Cleaning Tips

Window cleaning is no problem when you use a rubber edge squeegee.  Professional window cleaners use them so why wouldn’t we?

Protect your wooden floors.  You want to make sure you guard your wooden floors against scratches. Make sure the underside of furniture legs have surface protectors, and replace any that are dirty or worn.

Update bed linens.  For a quick bedroom makeover, replace your comforter.  For an easy DIY duvet cover you can sew 2 flat sheets together by placing them back to back and sew along the perimeter leaving an opening at the bottom.

Switch it up.  Change the direction of your ceiling fans.  The standard counterclockwise direction provides a pleasant breeze during the warmer months, but during the winter months you should run the fan clockwise to help create an upward draft.

Wash your blinds.  Once or twice a year wipe down your wooden blinds with a few drops of wood cleaner on a moist sponge.  You can wash your aluminum blinds outside with a hose and noncorrosive cleaner.

Clean out your refrigerator.  This seems to be a task that always gets put off.  the first step is to make sure you wipe up any spills immediately so the surface won’t become stained.  Make it a habit to throw away old food at least once a week.

Clean your curtains.  Vacuum and steam clean your curtains or have them dry-cleaned.  If you plan to switch out your heavy curtains for lighter ones this spring, just make sure you remove dust and dirt before putting the curtains away for storage.
