Decorating the Exterior of Your Home

Whenever you think about decorating your new home, the first thoughts that might go through your mind are: What colors am I going to paint the walls? What color cabinets do I want? Or how am I going to arrange my family room?  While these are all valid questions to have, one aspect of the home that you do not want to forget about decorating is the exterior.

The exterior of your home is the first thing that people see.  It is where your guests get their first impression of your home, so you want to make sure that the outside is just as memorable as the inside.

Having your front door make a statement is one great way to achieve this.  A simple and inexpensive red door gives your home that extra “pop” of color that might be missing.

Creating an arched opening out of a different material then the rest of the home is another great idea.

Wooden columns not only add architectural interest to your front porch, but they also add instant curb appeal as well.

People often overlook the actual porch.  This is a great place to add additional character to the front of your home.

And you can’t forget about your sidewalks!  I mean this is the path that your guests must take to get to your home.
