5 Items to Avoid in Your Outdoor Spaces

Your outdoor space should be an extension of your indoor living areas. A place you go to unwind, relax and simply enjoy being outside.  Here are 5 things that we would avoid when designing your outdoor living areas.

  1. Rugs that cannot withstand the weather.  Rugs can add warmth and define spaces on your patio, but they can also become an eye sore and a money pit if they are not weather resistant.  Instead opt for a low-maintenance budget friendly rug that can withstand the unpredictable weather.

  2. Fabrics that fade.  You will be wasting your money if you buy furniture made with cotton, linen, polyester, or nylon.  Instead, opt for high quality fabrics like polypropylene.

  3. Super bright lights.  Your neighbors will thank you and you will still be able to enjoy the stars in the sky when you opt for subtle solar lights.

  4. Avoid high maintenance plants.  Unless gardening and plants are what you love, a balance of low maintenance plants will create a garden that thrives.

  5. Outdoor dining made of metal.  Black top metal looks great, but they can turn into hot plates in the summer months.  Instead look for light colored tables and chairs.
