Fall Fun in Our Area
Maybe if we start doing fun Fall things, like visit a pumpkin patch, go apple picking, or on a haunted trail, the weather will get the memo that we have moved on from Summer and are ready for all things Fall! Here is our list of fun Fall activities in our area.
Saturdays & Sundays, Sept. 22 – Oct. 28
During the day, Carowinds puts the “Wee!” in Halloween. The Great Pumpkin Fest has family-friendly Halloween attractions for the little ghosts and goblins from 11:00 a.m. – 5:00 p.m. including a costume parade thrown by the world’s most famous beagle – Snoopy, foam zone, a fun hay bale maze and more! It’s kid-sized frights that every age will love and of course, all of your favorite rides. It’s all fun and no fear at the Carolinas’ premier Halloween event for kids. Join us for a day packed with Halloween fun on Saturdays & Sundays from Sept. 22 through Oct. 28.
The Renaissance Festival offers something for all ages. From games and rides to jousting knights on horseback, this is a great place to spend your weekend! The Festival is open every Saturday and Sunday from now until November 18!
Kick off the autumn season with us at Fall Festival. This year’s festival features Cider Sampling and the always entertaining and exciting BYOB (Build Your Own Boat) Competition, where participants create their own river-worthy vessels and put them to the test with a trip down the whitewater competition channel. The Fall Festival is this Saturday Oct. 6.
From October 19-12 in Statesville, you can come watch hot air balloon flights!
GUTS is a friendly pumpkin carving contest featuring some of Charlotte’s finest creatives! If you aren’t carving, there is plenty to watch and do at GUTS. Tickets for the event are $10 for guests and children 12 and under are free. All proceeds from the tickets sales go directly to Make-a-Wish. This event is taking place on October 27!
Windy Hill Orchard and Cider Mill
Open every Fall, Windy Hill offers Hard Cider samplings, pick your own apples, fresh pressed apple cider, fresh maple products and much more! Their 25th Annual Apple Harvest Festival is Saturday Oct. 20!
