5 Ways to Beat the Heat

Things are heating up around here!  This past weekend’s temps were well above average for this time of year, and with Summer quickly approaching, things are only going to get hotter!  So to keep you cool here is our list on ways to beat the heat this Summer.

• Splash Pads:  Kids love splashing around in water that randomly pops up from the ground, and parents love that they can watch from the shade and not fear that their child might drown.  Here is a great list of Splash Pads near Charlotte.  Smack dab in the middle of Birkdale Village is one of the most popular Splash Pads.  Concord and Kannapolis both have Splash Pads as well!  Fun 4 Kids Charlotte also has a great list of local splash pads and water parks near us!

• Ice cream:  Nothing helps beat the heat like ice cream! Luckily there are ice cream shops all over, but here is a list of our favorite ice cream shops near our neighborhoods.  –Cabarrus Creamery –Papa Robb’s– Mooresville Ice Cream Shop –Whit’s Frozen Custard – Ninety’s Ice Cream and Sandwiches

• Discovery Place Huntersville:  Beat the heat indoors at the Discover Place! You can also register our kiddos for Summer Camps!

• The Pit Indoor Kart Racing: Go Kart racing indoors, that’s a win! Located in Mooresville, The Pit has Go-Karts, an arcade, Laser Tag, Mini Golf, Bumper Cars and more!

• The Library:  Yep they still exist. Check your local Public Library for a list of events that they offer.  Baby story time, family story time, Music and Movement, just to name a few!  Here is a list of what the Cabarrus Public Library has to offer.

• Neighborhood Pool:  Head on over to your neighborhood pool! Plan a date with your neighbors, buy some fun pool floats, pack some yummy snacks and make a day of it!
